We went here for my Birthday a couple weeks ago and it was Fantastic!! The food, everything we ordered was outstanding!! We had outdoor seating near the gardens and the weather was Absolutely Beautiful, not to hot not to cool and the atmosphere was Great!!! We had "Jose" as our waiter and he was phenomenal. We had an excellent experience for my Birthday and would highly recommend "L'Auberge Chez Francois" to anyone looking for authentic French cuisine as well as a Amazing experience!!

Wonderful evening at L’Auberge. This place is a true French dining experience out in kind of the middle of nowhere. We were surprised how expansive it is, and by the overall experience.

The food is very good, but it is very traditional. If you like traditional French cuisine, then you will enjoy it very much. No complaints on any of the dishes, it is just a lot of heavy food that became overwhelming after a while.

The dining experience itself is also great. It’s very slow and drawn out. You feel like you are there for a proper evening rather than just dinner.

I would recommend if you are willing to spend for a special occasion and you are ready to eat too much food

Celebrating a birthday with my kids at an amazing restaurant. It’s been over 15 years since being here and it remains a classic place to dine. My children enjoyed it for the first time. We sat outside. It was a beautiful day. Good food. Good company. And excellent service. We stayed for almost 5 hours and didn’t feel rushed. That is the true meaning of fine dining.

We dined in the outdoor Brasserie section. It was lovely! Great service. The bread that was brought with our drinks was delicious. We had the escargots and mussels (starters), delicious! I had the seafood bouillabaisse- soooo good! The others had the seafood pasta (great), the onion soup (also great), the burger (very good). We ordered the chocolate and the raspberry soufflés when we ordered our meals and those were also wonderful. Can’t wait to go back!

To be honest, I think there are better French restaurants in the northern Virginia area. I believe the reason this place is so popular, not because of the food, even though I think the desserts and the complimentary bread were the best things on the prix fixe menu, but because it is located within one of the richest neighborhoods with beautiful scenery. The service was not bad, but it seemed forced, because every item on the menu is $100+, so it feels like the servers are forced to earn your business and tip. Now to the food. The presentation was not bad, but with the stingy portion on a big plate with lots of empty space, it does not sit well with the guest wondering why they are paying so much for so little food. Nothing special is going on with the flavors and the servers definitely were not doing anything fancy to wow you away. The whole dinner service took over 3.5 hours. We were the first customers in and one of the last to leave. For a $900+ meal, I really expected something fancier and more unique. Overall, pretty disappointed because this place receives lots of great review, but I question how accurate they are.

Absolutely worth it, I enjoyed everything I had, and, as you may see, cleaned the plate. Price at a around $100 per person, depending on drink order, with tip I paid $300 for two of us, $250 before tip, but I would say worth the money if you have it, good for a special date night too. I typically don't like many desserts but I liked what I got here if that says anything. And yes, I may have forgotten to take pictures before I started eating. Also good service, very professional. Will probably come again for a third time later. Also not sure why Google maps thinks I'm reviewing a hotel...
