What an incredible experience! The themed Spirited Away Feast - not only looked DELICIOUS - but blew away my expectations! Definitely did the job of taking my mind to the world of the function. The aesthetic of the bar is definitely high end theatre with very nice ambiance lighting. The best part about the experience was the friendly and extremely professional staff! A huge shout out to Clahissa, Ayoub & Cliford! Who surprised me with the most appreciated gift! Highly recommend.

Great experience at Bar in Theatre! The Japanese feast was fantastic, and the Japanese matcha cookie during the interval was a highlight. Shrini’s service was excellent, Clarissa’s management was spot-on, and Emma’s recommendations were perfect. The Japanese Long Island cocktail was a unique twist. Highly recommend!

The Japanese-themed drinks were a delightful and creative twist, perfectly complementing the spirited away show. The recommendations from the lady at the bar, Aurora were excellent. A good bar sitting area to get away from the buzz of Stalls and have a quiet drink pre show and during the interval. The show was absolutely brilliant, I recommend for a well curated night out in London

American Bar small plates menu during «Magic Flute» was excellent, as was the service. Yet, the Japanese Feast menu and the service was quite a poor value for money during «Spirited Away». Mixed emotions at this stage.

I had the opportunity to visit the afternoon tea service on Sunday the 11th and it was honestly an amazing time for my girlfriend and I. This was my second time visiting the American bar, and I did not expect to enjoy as much as I did. Aurora made sure I was taken care off, the cakes were splendid and we even had some onigiri’s brought to our table which was a welcome surprise. The waiters, Rachel and Ayoud were lovely. They made sure to carefully explain everything and recommended some very delicious drinks. 10/10 experience, amazing upsell from ENO.

We were charged £75 pp for an “all you can eat” Japanese sushi buffet before the evening performance of Spirited Away. Sushi composed about 25% of the available food, the rest being beige, fried food. All you can eat should include the disclaimer “of what we have left”. The buffet wasn’t served until after 18:30 - with the bar open from 18:00, which also caused folks to queue up around the bar in order to avoid missing out before being called to our seats. A very disappointing experience, in an anodyne environment. I expected more given the charges. A lesson learned.

I paid £195 for my Spirited Away ticket and The Japanese Feast at £75 on 24/5/24 for Spirited Away was a joke. I actually feel like I have been scammed. I spoke to other diners at my sitting and they all felt the same.
I was a sole diner, and my table was already dedicated as it had one setting, the problem was it was a seat at a coffee table level. How am I supposed to eat sushi from there. Asked to be moved as there were plenty of higher tables with no guests yet. I arrived at 18:00 the food wasn't ready till 18:30 , then we had to queue up like schools dinners while we waited for people to choose from the bar counter. No dedicated area, it was served from the bar counter top. It was really quite poor and amateur.
There wasn't even a great selection to choose from , and when I booked there was and still is only a sample menu. I think I ate £20 worth and paid £75 to do so. You didn't even get a welcome drink included in the price, all drinks were charged. That really is money grabbing. The staff were average, real basic service, didn't seem knowledgeable about the interval length and were told we had longer than we did, so the dessert and tea was just shovelled down, and because the private area doesn't have its own toilets you have to choose to not eat dessert and queue with the stalls audience or hold your bladder for the remaining 90 minutes.
The whole experience was dire and insulting to call it a feast. I have some ballet visits due, and I will never book their American bar again.
Honestly, a part of me is happy they're moving out of London, if you dont care about patrons why should we care about you.
I wish more people could review about this money grab.
If anyone reads it and is wondering if they should partake, please dont. Your £75 each could be better spent elsewhere.
I honestly believe the ENO should refund their customers for this scam of a feast.
And because of the lie you sold your customers, I will never waste my money on your so called dining experiences again.
Revenge is a Japanese dish best served cold.

Yesterday, my boyfriend and I went to see the Spirited away and we ordered Japanese Long Island n’kyoto 75 which we really enjoyed. The service was spot on. We were served by Emma, Clarissa and Christivie who were professional, smiling and very caring. Great overall experience!! We had a very good time, the staff treated as with upmost attention to details.
